History
Fiber SenSys is located at 2925 NW Aloclek Dr Suite 130, Hillsboro, OR 97124. All research and development, marketing, and manufacturing operations are conducted from this location. The company was founded in 1990 by Corning, Inc. and a group of entrepreneurs with high technology and fiber-optic expertise to design, manufacture, and market systems for intrusion detection and analysis. Fiber SenSys introduced its first fiber-optic intrusion system in 1991, and the company now manufactures a series of products building upon the original technological baseline. Major early customers included the Department of Defense, with whom we continue to work closely, further refining our product line and system configurations to meet their varied and highly dynamic requirements. This customer-driven relationship yielded a major breakthrough with the reconfiguration of our Fiber Defender sensors to operate with solar power and wireless communications, creating a deployable sensor package that is now in widespread use with military forces in high-threat environments throughout South West Asia. Our core competency today continues to be the development of fiber optic sensing technologies that set industry standards for performance, deployment flexibility, low maintenance, and reliability. The new 300-series family of sensors continues our tradition of offering leading edge sensing capabilities unaffected by factors such as EMI, RFI, aircraft/vehicle traffic, and without the high infrastructure cost that handicap alternative RF, microwave, coaxial and ported coaxial sensing technologies. With the introduction of SecurLAN, the scope of our product line expanded into a new market segment. SecurLAN offers flexible, easy-to-implement network security solution with significant cost and network performance advantages over alternative methods. To date SecurLAN remains the only sensor system approved by the US Air Force to meet requirements for Protective Distribution Systems. In November of 2000 Fiber SenSys joined the CompuDyne family of companies, each of which is a world leader in their particular markets.
Our Logo
	The Fiber SenSys Logo is comprised of three links to represent our three areas of protection: fence and wall perimeters, buried perimeters, and data security infrastructure. The offset color represents a complete formation of a perimeter. The pulse is identified with a signal or signal detection. Careful examination reveals six lines to show Fiber SenSys forming the sixth sense in intrusion detection. Our links evoke the image of a chain link fence, a perimeter traditionally protected by Fiber SenSys.
