Our story

On November 4, 1979, Iranian militants stormed the United States Embassy in Tehran and took approximately seventy Americans captive. This terrorist act triggered the most profound crisis of the Jimmy Carter presidency and began a personal ordeal for president and the American people that lasted 444 days. This event coupled with the April 18, 1983 bombing of the U. S. Embassy in Beirut, which killed 63 including 17 Americans, solidified the threat that Americans and their allies face. In the shadow of these events, Norshield was established in 1981 by a detention products and construction firm to address the rising threat of global terrorism. Since that time, this industry has matured. By the time of the 2001 terror attacks on American soil, Norshield was steadfastly protecting American and foreign assets in over 100 countries. Our ballistic, blast, and forced entry doors and windows have changed the balance of security in federal facilities abroad. Attacks on civilians in America, Spain, Britain, Bali, and elsewhere has shown a new direction, but continued resolve of terrorism. Norshield stands in the gap.
